The blueprint of today’s Ambazonia independence struggle can be traced ions ago as early as the German invasion of the territory. This era we saw a brother’s betrayal and the zeel of resistance(e.g Bangwa resistance). This betrayal continued over the years until present day. Now in the foumbam conference where a drafted joined constitution(agreement ) was formed. This agreement shaped the struggle today thought us(Ambazonians) alot, for example the importance of transparency. Our forefathers Endeley and Foncha and their team laid down a blueprint for revolution subconscious because they knew, suspected or subconsciously figured out that things may not work. So they inserted the Ambazonia identity and when for a two state federation which could always break up if things didn’t go as planned and that is where we find ourselves today.

Talking on transparency firstly, the SCPLF which state that transparency is a non negotiable requirement in it movement and every engagement done on behalf of the Ambazonia people shall be communicated before and after such action and the resolution shall be made available to the public/ people in verious forms which shall ensure effective communication. History has thought us that back room meetings on breed discontent and miscommunication’s and manipulation. The people comes first before any individual. We can still see this again through back room meetings with some international community and some shady individuals putting their interest over the interest of the general population. The current ideology is the realization of Ambazonia and there are no exceptions.

Secondly , aspects is accountability, the current government lacks accountability. For example the prime minister head of government couldn’t hold the ministry of territorial administrations accountable for their embezzlement and mismanagement of COVID 19 funds. This actions are scandalous and shameful. Therefore accountability is a sacrosanct aspect of this organization. Which is aimed at instilling this traits to the Ambazonian community. The SCPLF shall and will give and keep records of dealings , interactions and resources which directly affect the Ambazonian people and this records shall be readily available and accessible for Ambazonian on the SCPLF website.

Thirdly there are several ways which the international community can actively aid, we can all agree that most of liberation of countries was done through fighting against their oppressors and through the help from allies and sympathizers.

  • Diplomatic Engagement and Mediation

One key avenue is (diplomatic engagement). International actors be they nation-states, multilateral institutions, or regional organizations can help establish forums for genuine dialogue between the Cameroonian government and Ambazonian representatives. By acting as neutral mediators, these bodies can facilitate focused negotiations that explore options such as supervised referendums or transitional arrangements, ensuring that any discussion about self-determination is anchored in international legal norms and respect for human rights. This diplomatic role helps ensure that the voices of the Anglophone population are heard and their historical grievances are addressed within a peaceful framework.

  • Legal and Normative Support

The principle of self-determination is deeply embedded in international law, even though the legal path to secession is fraught with challenges. By offering (legal support and advocacy), the international community can assist Ambazonia’s leaders including organizations like the Southern Cameroon People Liberation Front in framing their struggle within accepted legal narratives. This support might involve engaging international courts or human rights bodies to spotlight abuses and call for accountability, as well as drawing on scholarly work that underscores the legitimacy of the Ambazonian quest for independence under oppressive conditions. This condition can be seen in every day life of Ambazonian people and activists for example the recent life in present sentencing of Abdul karim a staunch Ambazonian activist.

  • Safeguarding Human Rights and Promoting Accountability.Another essential pillar is measures to safeguard human rights. Reports have documented excessive use of force and violations of civil liberties in the wake of protests and growing separatist sentiment. International agencies can monitor, report, and, if necessary, intervene to halt human rights abuses thus protecting civilians caught in the crossfire. This oversight not only minimizes suffering but also lends legitimacy to the independence movement by emphasizing that any reordering of political boundaries must be based on the universal commitment to human rights and dignity. In this aspect the international community has gravely failed the Ambazonia as most countries down play the security threat facing Ambazonian citizens and call for better protection through asylum policies and accountability.
  • Humanitarian and Economic Assistance

Conflicts invariably bring humanitarian crises that compound political struggles. The international community can contribute significantly by delivering (targeted humanitarian aid) ranging from food and medical supplies to shelter for displaced populations ensuring that the people of Southern Cameroon are not left to bear the brunt of the ongoing strife. Concurrently, sustained (economic assistance and development programs) can aid in post-conflict reconstruction and state-building efforts. By investing in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, the international community can help lay the groundwork for a viable independent state, addressing the long-standing economic disparities that have fueled frustration and separatism.

  • Security and Peacekeeping Support

Given the risk of escalating violence, the international community might also consider (security interventions) under the aegis of the United Nations or regional bodies, such as the African Union. A peacekeeping mission could help create a secure environment necessary for peaceful negotiations, protect civilians, and monitor ceasefire agreements. Such initiatives would work to prevent the spread of violence while ensuring that the environment is conducive to a political resolution that respects the self-determination aspirations of the people in Southern Cameroon. It’s important to note that the Ambazonian independence struggle is barely talked about on the international stage and is mostly independent countries taking initiatives to broker negotiations which are mostly biased. Also the arrest of key Ambazonian leaders like Ayaba Cho Lucas only goes to show how much bais is affecting the resolution of the struggle .

  • Promoting International Awareness and Solidarity

Lastly, strategic  (communication and advocacy) play a vital role. By mobilizing international public opinion through media campaigns, public statements by human rights organizations, and academic discourse the global community can ensure sustained attention on the plight and aspirations of the Anglophone population. This increased visibility pressures the Cameroonian government to engage constructively while also fostering international solidarity that can translate into political, financial, and logistical support for post-independence state-building efforts.

We can acknowledge the fact that the international community’s involvement is crucial in helping legitimize and support the independence aspirations of Ambazonia. Whether it is through diplomatic mediation that nurtures dialogue, legal advocacy that frames the struggle within international law, humanitarian and economic assistance that builds the foundations of a future state, or security and human rights interventions that protect civilians and ensure accountability, each element contributes to a collective international effort. When channeled through organizations like the Southern Cameroon People Liberation Front, these initiatives are not simply about facilitating secession, they are about creating a pathway for sustainable, just, and inclusive governance that genuinely reflects the aspirations and rights of the region’s inhabitants. Thereby fostering an atmosphere for independence and transition.
